a Message from the League of Women Voters
Some of you may be passionate for the Equal Rights Amendment. Now, even more than ever, the importance of having equality enshrined in our constitution cannot be overstated. Your support for this cause can make a significant difference.
There are 4 Democratic House Members from CT who have not yet signed up to be sponsors of the ERA Joint Resolution. This resolution is set to be introduced when the Members return the week of March 23. Here is the list of the 4 out of 5 Connecticut Congressmembers who have not signed up to co-sponsor this resolution. Please call your representative and share this with your members so they can do the same. If you are in DeLauro’s district, she recently signed on. We need all of them to co-sponsor, and we need your help urgently!

What is needed is a call to their DC office—the general number is 202-224-3121, and the operator will connect you to their office. These members signed the resolution for the ERA in the last session, so we know they support the ERA. We need them to sign on to this session’s resolution.
If you get a recording or can get to a real person — ask that the member sign up now to co-sponsor the House Joint Equal Rights Amendment Ratification Resolution — they have done this in the past, and we need them to take action. During the break, they must call Rep Pressley’s office to sign up and fill out the form. Their office would have gotten this “Dear Colleague letter” from Pressley in the last few weeks, and it is understandable, given all that is happening, that they may have missed it.
The new deadline is March 23, so calls are needed this week.
