Phyllis K. Clouse Scholarship

Connor Rayball, pictured with CDWC co-presidents Diane Visconti and Ellen Bartley, is the 2026 recipient of the Phyllis K. Clouse scholarship. The scholarship is named in memory of the first president of the Cheshire Democratic Women’s Club. Recipients of the Clouse Scholarship are chosen for their commitment to democratic values, strong character traits, and the indication that they will lead with those values and character into the next phase of their lives.
While at Cheshire High, Connor exhibited many of the scholarship’s attributes, serving as President of the CHS Winter Festival, President of the high school’s National Honor Society, a peer health educator and the student representative to Cheshire’s Board of Education.
After graduating in June, 2026, Connor will attend Villanova University in the Fall and plans to major in economics. We wish him continued success.
Applications for the scholarship become available in February and the award is determined and announced in the spring. Those interested in applying may email the CDWC for further information. The scholarship is funded by CDWC members and fundraising events.
